Launched in 2012 on a hunch that we could use technology to improve the speed and lower the cost of collecting election returns, we were first to call the presidency for Donald Trump in 2016 and for Vice President Joe Biden in 2020.
In 2022, we were first to call control of Congress and also covered 16,000 local races. We continue to innovate with new technologies to drive more efficient results reporting that prioritizes accuracy and transparency, supports local coverage, and strengthens trust in the democratic process.
What We Do
Data Collection
Collect day-of, absentee, and early-vote results from election authorities, including several thousand in the US alone. We continually refine our reporting workflow — between on-the-ground reporters, data scraping, and remote monitoring — to ensure the most accurate and reliable methods.
Polling
Conduct exit polls and other surveys; collect and curate FEC and polling data, such as our 2024 polling averages curated for The Hill. We also design custom results delivery and display solutions for our clients.
Forecasting
Maintain a forecast model which has been featured in the peer-reviewed Harvard Data Science Review.
