We launched on Election Night 2012 as an independent source of race calls on Twitter, covering state-by-state outcomes for the US presidency.
In 2014, we were first to call the upset of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in his Virginia primary.
Applying data-scraping and other technologies to improve the speed and lower the cost of collecting returns, we went on to become first to call the presidency for Donald Trump in 2016 and for Vice President Joe Biden in 2020, and first to call control of Congress in 2022.

US Local

Unlike the AP and NEP, Decision Desk HQ is the only provider to cover the entire ballot, from races for the presidency and Congress, to statewide and state legislative races, to mayor, county offices and even school board seats.
In 2022, we collected results for more than 15,000 down-ballot races. In 2024, we expect to monitor upwards of 30,000. While we're proud of our track record for accuracy and speed, we're especially proud of our work on local races.
In 2020, DDHQ client Bangor Daily News was the first news outlet in the world to report former Vice President Joe Biden's election as President.
